Continuing Education Schedule

Health & Wellness staff are invited to participate in continuing education sessions focused on clinical readiness, teamwork, and care within the Jamboree environment.

Target Audience

This continuing education program is intended for physicians, dentists, nurses, advanced practice providers, EMS professionals,  behavioral health professionals, and other Health & Wellness personnel supporting the 2026 National Jamboree.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational program, participants should be able to:

  • Apply current evidence-based practices to the assessment, triage, stabilization, and treatment of patients in a large-scale, resource-limited event environment.
  • Recognize and manage common medical, traumatic, environmental, pediatric, behavioral health, and substance-related conditions encountered during the Jamboree.
  • Incorporate updated resuscitation, airway-management, point-of-care ultrasound, harm-reduction, and injury-management practices within their professional roles and scopes of practice.
  • Use appropriate communication, referral, and escalation processes to support coordinated, patient-centered care throughout the Jamboree.
  • Identify practices and educational resources that can be adapted for use in local councils, Scouting programs, and participants’ home clinical settings.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the WVU School of Medicine and Scouting America.

In-person location: Pigott HQ Conference Room unless otherwise indicated. Times are Eastern Daylight Time.

Continuing Medical Education

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the WVU School of Medicine and Scouting America. The WVU School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The WVU Office of CME designates this live activity for a maximum of 18 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Continuing Education

This continuing education activity has been provided by the WVU School of Nursing for 21.6 contact hours. The WVU School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing education by the State of West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses, Legislative Rule #19CSR11-4 under provider number 50-26086.

Dental Continuing Education

The WVU School of Dentistry is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

This continuing education activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards of the ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) through joint efforts between the WVU School of Dentistry and Scouting America.

The WVU School of Dentistry designates this lecture-based activity for 18 continuing education credits.
