The school serves a K–8 student population in the Mission District of San Francisco. Application Manager Reminder As part of supporting new families, please take a moment to check Application Manager in my.Scouting for any pending invitations or applications. Timely follow-up helps ensure a smooth and welcoming joining experience for every new Scout. National Membership Mixers Membership Mixers are monthly virtual sessions hosted by the national membership team to share best practices for growing Scouting and are open to all. Resources from March's Recruiting for Older Youth Programs are now available. These include presentation slides, breakout takeaways, and additional tools to support local growth efforts. Access the full set of resources using the link below.   The April 19 Membership Mixer, Sharing Summer Fun and Service to Grow Interest in Scouting, with Linda Baker will focus on how units, districts, and councils can use summer activities and community service to build awareness and engage new families. It is an opportunity to explore how inviting non-Scouting youth to participate in fun and service can lead to future membership growth. The registration link is provided below. View Recruiting for Older Youth Resources Register for April Membership Mixer Special Needs: Accommodations, Modifications, and Registration Beyond the Age of Eligibility (RBAE) Many leaders and families are unsure how to best support Scouts with special needs or where to find help. Scouts BSA advancement includes built-in policies and procedures, such as accommodations, modifications when appropriate, and Registration Beyond the Age of Eligibility (RBAE), to help every Scout succeed.   Join this session to better understand available options, get your questions answered, and learn where to find additional resources. The webinar will be held on April 22. Register for Webinar Guide to Safe Scouting Update The Guide to Safe Scouting has been updated with a clarification to recruiting as follows: "Youth who are not registered in the unit may not accompany parents or siblings in camping programs of Scouts BSA*, Venturing, and Sea Scouting.  For example, siblings who are not registered in the specific troop may not attend Scouts BSA troop campouts as part of a “family camp”.  Youth who are not registered in the unit may not accompany parents or siblings in camping programs of Scouts BSA*, Venturing, and Sea Scouting.  Recruiting exception:  When recruiting youth not registered in Scouting, they may attend a unit campout if eligible for registration in the unit.  When recruiting all program policies apply including an annual health and medical record,  parental consent, age appropriate activities." Review Updated Guidance Unit Join Events (UJE) Unit Join Events remain a key opportunity to grow Scouting, and the council is here to support units in making them successful. The council is offering paid advertising and additional resources, at no cost, to units that submit their events through the Google form linked below. Please partner with your units to share their events and take full advantage of this support.
